In the early days of liberation, when Mengban established the people's government, it adopted the old name of "western district" and called it "Western District People's government". The area under its jurisdiction included part of the present northwest of zhenkang, with a total of 43 small townships. By August 1950, the western District was renamed "four District People's government". In 1958, the people's communization was carried out, and the district government was moved to mengbang town of zhenkang. The "red flag people's commune" was established in Mengban, which was not under the leadership of the "four districts" but under the leadership of the county. In September 1962, the rural sports system changed greatly. Mengban area was divided into two parts, with zhaimi River as the boundary. Hedong was under the control of the German Party (except for the fear of palm) and Hexi was under the control of xiaomengtong district. Mengban was reestablished to the people's commune in January 1973, and the area formerly under the control of the German Party and xiaomengtong was put under the jurisdiction of Mengban people's commune. In 1984, the commune changed its name to District, called Mengban District Office, which governs nine townships and one town. They are Mengban Town, lianggoushui Township, Baiyan Township, Lishu Township, Huya Township, Houshan Township, Shuicheng Township, mangfei Township and xinbiantian township. At the beginning of 1988, the district was withdrawn and the township was established, and its jurisdiction remained unchanged.
