Jiucun town
Jiucun town is located in the middle mountain valley of Chengjiang City, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province. The northeast is separated from Yiliang County by Nanpanjiang River, adjacent to Haikou in the south, and bordering yousuo, Longjie and Yangzong in the northwest. It covers an area of 109.3 square kilometers and has a population of 11944 (2017). It has jurisdiction over four administrative villages, namely Jiucun, Longtan, Qijiang and Dongshan. The town government is located in Jiulong street, 1880 meters above sea level, 7.8 kilometers southwest of the county. The highest altitude is 2260m and the lowest 1530m. Cheng (Gong) Hua (ning) highway transit, Jiucun River, Dongda River confluence, Donghe reservoir into Fuxian Lake. There is Shuikou temple.
Jiucun town is 7.8 kilometers away from the county seat, which is a typical pure mountain agricultural town. Jiulong street is the political, economic and cultural center of the town. Jiucun town is far away from Yiliang County across Nanpan River in the East, adjacent to Haikou in the South and yousuo, Longjie and Yangzong in the northwest, covering a total area of 109.3 square kilometers. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with the highest altitude of 2260 meters and the lowest altitude of 1530 meters. Due to the great difference in altitude, the three-dimensional climate of different days in the middle subtropical zone, south temperate zone and sub frigid zone is formed, which is suitable for the development of winter flue-cured tobacco, early vegetables, economic fruit and wood forest, bamboo forest and animal husbandry. It has the climate advantages of distinct dry and wet, rainy and hot seasons, and abundant light and heat resources. Rainfall is abundant in summer and autumn, less in winter and spring, with an average annual rainfall of 967.2 mm; sunshine is more in winter and spring, less in summer and autumn, with an average annual sunshine hours of 2252.9 hours and an average annual temperature of 22.1 ℃. It is rich in early winter vegetables and high-quality flue-cured tobacco. There are abundant phosphate rock reserves in the territory, ranking first in the county. It is easy to mine and has the advantages of high grade. The main economic crops in the town are flue-cured tobacco and forest fruits, and the main food crops are rice, corn and wheat.
Historical evolution
At the beginning of 1950, it belonged to the first district. In 1959, it was established as Jiucun commune. In 1963, it was merged with the original SONGZIYUAN to form Dongshan commune. In 1976, it was abolished and the Jiucun commune was restored. In 1982, it was established as Jiucun district after it was established as a township. On January 24, 1988, it was changed from district to township. In 1996, it is adjacent to Nanpanjiang River in the East, Zhushan mountain of Lunan County across the river, new village of Haikou town in the south, yousuo town in the west, and two villages and towns of Yiliang meadow and Goujie in the north. It covers an area of 109.3 square kilometers, with a total number of 2690 households and a total population of 10706 (all Han nationality). It has jurisdiction over four village offices, including nine villages, seven rivers, Dongshan and Longtan, 61 natural villages, 57 agricultural production cooperatives and township government offices The village head of the three families in the district is slightly more. In 1997, the township was set up. By the end of 2002, the town had a total area of 109.3 square kilometers, a total of 2768 households and a total population of 10769, of which 57 were ethnic minorities, accounting for 0.53% of the total population. In 2017, the town had an area of 109.3 square kilometers and a population of 11944. It had jurisdiction over four village committees, including Jiucun, Longtan, Dongshan and Qijiang, 61 natural villages and 62 villager groups. The town government was located in Jiulong street.

Jurisdiction area
Jiucun Village Office: mountainous area, located in the middle of the township, with a population of 2292. It has 13 natural villages, including Jiucun, Dadi, daxichong, xiaoxichong, Shangxin village, Xiaxin village, jiaolongtan, Ayi village, heihen nest, Wenshui River, Huayuan, maitianpo and Sanjia village.
Dongshan Village Office: mountainous area, located in the northeast of Jiucun Township, 9 kilometers away from the township government, with a population of 2074. Under its jurisdiction are 19 natural villages: dishao, Xiaolongtan, Niuchang, Shangzhuang, dasongke, Shanlin Guoshu, shangbajiao, xiabajiao, Shizishan, guoditang, daaozi, Yangliuqing, Ajia village, houshuitian, lvyintang, Chahe, fengkoushou, Huangjiazhuang and chudashui.
Qijiang Village Office: a mountainous area, 14km away from Jiucun township government, is located on the Bank of Nanpan River, bordering on Lunan Yiliang with a population of 3193. Under the jurisdiction of Qijiang, Dalongtan, masangqing, zuobimu, ReShuiHe, Baijia village, xiaqijiang, Xiaoxin village, hetaocun, qingshuitan, wheat stubble, huangcaopu, shangqifeipu, xiaqifeipu, Dashan Village, Tianba and Laocun, there are 17 natural villages.
Longtan Village Office: a mountainous area, 3.5km away from the township government, with a population of 2932. Under the jurisdiction of Longtan, black frog land, pingtanzi, dry mill stone, Xiaotian, Yaofang, dapingdi, dakaijing, xiaolantian, dajiqu, Yutang, Ganhaizi, jiuzhuan, luxishao, huihuiyao, dongxishao, Qingshuigou and shantoushang 16 villages.
Characteristics and advantages
The Party committee and government of Jiucun town further understand the situation of Jiucun Town, give full play to the characteristics and resource advantages of mountainous area, constantly practice and summarize, establish five pillar industries of flue-cured tobacco, grain, forest and fruit, animal husbandry and mineral resources, put forward the "213" project in line with the actual situation of Jiucun, and fully organize the implementation, forming a development pattern of combining agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry. At the end of 2002, there were 2768 households with a total population of 10769, including 5836 males, 4637 females and 57 ethnic minorities, accounting for 0.53% of the total population. The natural growth rate of population is 8.14 ‰. There are 10473 rural labors, of which 1400 are engaged in the secondary and tertiary industries, accounting for 13% of the total labor force. The population density of the town is 98.5 people per square kilometer. At the end of 2002, the town had 15267 mu of arable land, 213.71% of multiple cropping index, 1965 mu of grain sown area, 4.8612 million kg of total grain output, an increase of 150300 kg or 3.2% over the previous year, and 451.3 kg of grain per capita, an increase of 173000 kg or 4% over the previous year. 12500 mu of flue-cured tobacco was planted, with a total yield of 2.2159 million kg, an average unit price of 8.24 yuan, a total income of 18.264 million yuan, and a per capita income of 1696 yuan. The total number of live pigs in the town was 10927 and 10146, increased by 48 and 526 respectively over the same period of last year, increased by 0.4% and 5.5% respectively over the same period of last year; the number of goats in the town was 12511 and 3731, increased by 601 and 237 respectively over the same period of last year, increased by 5% and 6.8% respectively over the same period of last year. 11286 pigs, cattle and sheep were immunized. In 2002, a total of 4300 mu of trees were planted in the town, including 2680 mu of bamboo forest, 1020 mu of timber forest and 600 mu of economic fruit forest. During the year, a total of 552000 yuan was invested to repair and improve the farmland water conservancy projects such as Qijiang shangxiadagou, zuobimu, limekiln, and the drinking water projects for human and livestock such as kiln house and Xiaotian. 368 small water kilns have been built, with 76.8% of the town's water conservancy.
History and culture
In 1950 and the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, Jiucun town was transformed into four districts during the national period, namely Fengren District, Dianfu District, Aoqing district and Lianyong district. In April 1950, Fengren district was renamed Chengguan District, Dianfu District Shuangshu District, Aoqing District Jiucheng District, and Lianyong District Yangzong district. In October 1950, the name of the district was changed again. Chengguan District was changed to one district, Shuangshu district to two districts, old city district to three districts, Yangzong district to four districts, and the jurisdiction remained unchanged. From 1954 to 1957, Longtan Township, Jiucun Township and Qijiang Township were under the management of three districts, and NIUCHANG township was under the management of four districts. In September 1958, the people's commune movement was carried out in the whole county. The four districts and 31 townships of the whole county were merged into three people's communes, namely Longjie, Jihua and Yangzong. In April 1959, Jihua commune was divided into three communes, namely sanjihua, Songyuan and Jiucun. Jiucun commune had four administrative districts, namely Jiucun, Qijiang, Dongshan and Longtan Nine villages, seven rivers, Dongshan and Longtan are under the jurisdiction of Chengjiang people's commune. In April 1961, the people's commune of Chengjiang County was abolished and the Jiucun commune was restored. In May, the jurisdiction of Jiucun commune was adjusted to 13 teams including Jiucun, Sanjia village, Longtan, Baijia village, Qijiang, zuobimu, qifeipu, Ganhaizi, xiaoxichong, Niuchang, bajiaoqing, Huangjiazhuang and Ajia village. In December 1962, Jiucun commune and brigade were abolished and changed into four small communes under the direct leadership of the county. In August 1963, Dongshan commune was established by seven small communes, including Dongshan, Longtan, Qijiang, Jiucun, Songyuan, Haikou and Yonghe. In 1972, the brigade was transformed into a management area. In November 1973, Dongshan commune was abolished and four administrative areas, namely Jiucun, Dongshan, Longtan and Qijiang, were established. In 1974, the management area was renamed brigade. In 1982, the commune was abolished and divided into districts to build townships. Jiucun commune was renamed Jiucun District, which governs Jiucun, Dongshan, Longtan and Qijiang townships. On January 24, 1988, it was called Jiucun Township People's government, which governs Jiucun, Dongshan, Longtan and Qijiang townships. From 1999 to 2000, the village construction committee was withdrawn and the village office was renamed the villagers' committee. In 1994, the people's Government of Jiucun Township moved from Jiucun old village to Sanjia village head Shaodi now. Since 2002, it has withdrawn the township to build a town.
