Zhaojin town

Zhaojin town is located in the northwest of Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province. It is adjacent to Miaowan town in the East, Xiaoqiu town in the south, Chunhua County in Xianyang City in the West and Xunyi County in Xianyang City in the north, with a total area of 164 square kilometers.

Zhaojin town is the second batch of famous tourist towns with national characteristics, and Zhaojin Danxia Geopark is the Sixth Batch of national geoparks.

As of June 2020, Zhaojin town has nine administrative villages. In 2018, the registered residence population of 8118 people was in the town of Zhao. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Zhaojin town was 475 million yuan, the total industrial output value was 2.08 billion yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 8.95 million yuan.

Historical evolution

It is named after its location at the foot of Zhaojin mountain. It is said that the emperor of Sui Yang's tour here coincided with the setting sun after the rain, and the golden light on the mountain was so bright that he ordered his name to shine on Jinshan.

In the Song Dynasty, Ninggu town was established, and Ninggu post was established in Yingzhou.

In October 1949, Zhaojin township was established.

In September 1958, it was changed into a commune with 13 production teams under its jurisdiction; in December of the same year, it was transferred to Xiaoqiu commune of Tongchuan City.

In August 1961, it returned to Yaoxian county and remained Zhaojin commune.

In April 1983, the township was reestablished, with jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages.

In September 1984, it was changed into a town.

In July 2011, the five villages of Liulin, Shenshui, Wufeng, Hezhuang and yaoyu in the former Liulin town and Miaowan town were divided into Zhaojin Town, with 18 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
