Dahai Township
Dahai Township, belonging to Huize County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, is located in the main peak of Wumeng Mountain and Xiaojiang Fault Zone in Northeast Yunnan. It is known as "Little Tibet" in Northeast Yunnan, with a land area of 311 square kilometers and a permanent population of 25572 (in 2017), and has jurisdiction over 22 village committees.
Dahai township is a typical poverty-stricken Township in alpine cold mountain area, which integrates alpine cold, alpine meadow, dry hot valley and debris flow source area. It is one of the townships (towns) in Huize County with the highest altitude, poor environment, poor farmers' life and relatively backward economy.

"Dahai" is the homonym of "daqipai" in Yi language, and "the place with the highest steps" in Yi language. Dahai township is adjacent to Dongbu town in the East and Nagu town in the west, Dongchuan District of Kunming City in the South and Jinzhong town in the north. The territory has complex terrain, high mountains and deep ditches, and prominent three-dimensional climate. The highest altitude is 4017.3 meters (the peak of guniuzhai), and the lowest altitude is 780 meters (Xiaojiang Longtan River). It is mountainous with a relative elevation difference of 3237.3 meters. The township government is located at an altitude of 3150 meters, 28 kilometers away from the county. The township has 22 villager committees, 182 villager groups, 219 natural villages, 8818 households and 25572 permanent residents (2017). Lvyintang village of Dahai township is the residence of the township government, 28 kilometers away from the county seat, with a land area of 9.25 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 7 villager groups, 6 natural villages, 287 households and 1821 people. the total land area of the township is 332.47 square kilometers, including 28500 mu of cultivated land, 1.1 mu of cultivated land per capita, 181000 mu of woodland and 180000 mu of natural grassland. The main crops are Maca, potato, Baogu, oats, and the main economic sources are planting and breeding.

Dahai Caoshan, Dahai Liangzi wind farm, slate houses, etc. Dahai Caoshan enjoys the reputation of "Little Tibet in Yunnan" and "New Zealand in China". Caoshan is a subalpine meadow with more than 180000 mu. Dahai Caoshan was recommended as one of the 108 most beautiful landmarks in China by National Human Geography in 2009. In 2011, the application for national 4A scenic spot was started. In July 2014, it was approved as national 4A scenic spot and became the only AAAA scenic spot in Huize County. It was selected as "China's beautiful countryside" by the Ministry of agriculture. In October 2014, Dahai Caoshan was awarded one of "the first batch of 20 best scenic spots in Yunnan Province" for its unique Caoshan scenery.
Current situation of crop planting
The main crops are: potato, Maca, snow on a branch of Artemisia species. by 2014, Heiqing and Xiaxin villages have completed 5000 mu of walnut planting, Buduo village has completed 200 mu of soft seed pomegranate planting and improvement, nideping village has planted 1000 mu of big tree green pepper, erdaoping, lvyintang and Danao have built 1000 mu of potato high-yield demonstration model and 500 mu of purified multiple cropping. Pingqing has built a Maca planting base, a seedling base, and introduced a Maca processing enterprise, which has driven the whole township to plant more than 30000 mu of Maca, with an output value of 300 million yuan.
