Historical evolution
In 2006, the Songming County Government merged the two township level administrative divisions into the town level administrative division: Niulanjiang town after abolishing the two township level administrative divisions of xiaoxinjie Township and Siying township.
Niulanjiang town is located in the southeast of Songming County, with an area of 217.14 square kilometers and a population of 51500 (2006). It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, including Siying, Luobang, Haichao, shangmafang, Xiamafang, laohoujie, yaozhan, huawo, Daqing, Xiaoxin street, alitang, guoguoyuan, Hexi, Gucheng, shuihai and Huangtian. The town government is located in Siying street, 16 kilometers away from the county. Guiyang Kunming railway passes through the station, and national highway 320 and Kunming Qujing Expressway pass through.
The former xiaoxinjie township is located in the east of Songming County, 19 kilometers away from the county. Before the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Xundian, Malong and Songming counties. In 1954 and 1957, 15 villages in Malong County, including Xiaoxin street, LiXiao village, wanggaolou and Huangtian, were classified as small blocks in Songming County. In 1958, Balipu village in Xundian County was classified as small blocks in Songming County. In April of the same year, xiaoxinjie township was established. In September, it merged with Siying to form Siying commune. In February 1959, xiaoxinjie commune was set up from Siying commune. It has jurisdiction over eight administrative areas, including alitang, xiaoxinjie, Hexi, pingtanzi, Gucheng, Xiaochong, Dalong and Huangtian. The subordinate relationship changes with the change of county administrative division, which first belongs to Xundian County, and then to Songming County. In December 1962, it merged with Siying commune to form Siying district. At the same time, the scale of the commune was reduced. The original xiaoxinjie commune was divided into six small communes: alitang, guoguoyuan, xiaoxinjie, Gucheng, shuihai and Huangtian. In 1966, the district was withdrawn and xiaoxinjie commune was established. The original six communes were renamed as six brigades (once the ancient city was renamed as youth brigade and the wasteland was renamed as harvest brigade). In November 1979, Xinjie brigade was divided into Xinjie brigade and Hexi brigade. In February 1984, the commune was changed into a district and the brigade into a township. In December 1987, the district was changed to Township, and the original township was changed to office. In 1997, it covers an area of 118.8 square kilometers and has a population of 19000. It governs seven administrative villages, namely xiaoxinjie, Gucheng, shuihai, Hexi, guoguoyuan, alitang and Huangtian. The former Siying township is located in the southeast of Songming County. The name of Siying originated from Ming Dynasty. During the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty, Yunnan implemented garrison farming, and set up Shangying, Xiaying, luojiaying and wangjiaying in the bailongqiao area, collectively known as the "four camps". The first year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1875) belonged to jinmali of Songming state. In 1914, Li was changed to Township, and Songming Prefecture was changed to Songming County. In 1931, it was divided into the Sixth District, with 13 townships including leliang, Luorong, Fengyi (upper and lower), Xiufeng (Laohou Street), Longfeng, Yinglong, Qinglong, Luotian, Jide (dashanshao, Heishan Village), congshang, Congzhong, congxia, and 24 villages. Retreat district and township, set up Bailong Township, Township Office in Bailong bridge. In July 1950, Bailong township was divided into small blocks. The former Bailong township was divided into five small townships, namely Haichao, Siying and xiawucong. In 1954, the five townships were merged into Siying Township, and the township government was stationed in Siying street. In 1958, Siying commune was established, which has jurisdiction over 13 management areas, including Siying, Zhongwei, Tianba, shangmafang, Xiamafang, Laohou street, mosque, dashanshao, Heishan village, yaozhan, huawo, Daqing and clamashan. In 1961, the management area was changed into a production brigade, with 18 production brigades under the Siying commune. In 1963, Siying district was set up together with Xiaoxin Street commune. At the same time, the scale of commune was reduced. There were 13 small communes (Siying 7 and Xiaoxin Street 6). In 1966, the district was withdrawn and the grand commune was established. Siying commune has eight brigades, namely Siying, Tianba, shangmafang, Xiamafang, Yuxin (laohoujie), Haichao, yaozhan and Wucong. In 1984, the commune was changed into a district and the brigade into a township. The district has jurisdiction over eight townships (China's grand ceremony of administrative districts: it was divided into districts in 1976). In 1987, Siying district was replaced by Siying township. In 1997, it covers an area of 96.2 square kilometers and has a population of 28000. It governs nine administrative villages, namely Siying, Luobang, Haichao, shangmafang, Xiamafang, laohoujie, yaozhan, huawo and Daqing.
