Historical evolution
Known as "Tiannan copper capital", Tangdan has a history of mining and copper smelting for thousands of years, forming a unique human environment and profound copper culture. The Dongchuan Mineral Bureau, established in January 1953, has been stationed in Tangdan. After nearly 30 years of construction, the transportation of the whole town is developed, and there are asphalt roads leading to the urban areas of provinces and cities. There are five power plants, two hospitals, one district is Wanzhong, two districts are wanxiao, and 12 towns are wanxiao. The power supply, water supply, radio and television systems are well planned. The buildings are well arranged, and the market is flat and wide. The four seasons are like spring. The climate is pleasant and the scenery is magical.
The name of Tangdan comes from the native method of copper smelting. Because the copper smelted from the ore is black, it is necessary to restore the copper color by fire and soup splashing, so it is named Tangdan. Tangdan town belongs to Dongchuan Prefecture in the Qing Dynasty; Qiaojia county in the period of the Republic of China, with Tangdan District, Tangdan Township and Tangdan town successively set up; Huize County in the early liberation, Dongchuan Mining Area Government in 1954, Dongchuan City after 1958 (Caiyuan commune and Tangdan District Office were set up successively during the period, and district office was changed to town people's Government in 1988), and Dongchuan District since 1999. In 2005, the township reform, the original Dongchuan Shanmu township (a total of 8 village committees, land area of 91.01 square kilometers) merged into Tangdan Town, forming today's Tangdan Town, making Tangdan town enter a new historical development period.
Tanglangxi, a cultural relic unearthed in Tangdan, indicates that copper mining was carried out in the early period of the Eastern Han Dynasty (76-83 A.D.), the highest in the Qing Dynasty
