Guanshang street is located in the southeast of Kunming, covering an area of 16.2 square kilometers, with a population of 149039 (in 2010), a non-agricultural population of 40600 and a registered floating population of 104000. Historical sources

In the Southern Song Dynasty, soldiers were stationed here, so they became a settlement (today's guanpo). It is said that because of the presence of tigers, they were turned into stones by immortals, so they were named shihugang. The Yuan Dynasty advocated Confucianism and Buddhism, and built Gufu temple here (a bronze bell was unearthed in the temple in 1985 and cast in the second year of Zhizhi reign of the Yuan Dynasty). In the Ming Dynasty, a pass was set up here, which was named Shihu pass, and an Erzhong temple was built to offer sacrifices to Wang Shen, master Lin of the Ming Dynasty, and Wu Yun, Minister of the Ministry of punishment. In the Qing Dynasty, Jiancai temple was dedicated to the stone tiger. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, a market was formed, named Yinfeng street, also known as Guan. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the name was closed. In April 1988, two offices, Wuli and Guanshang, were set aside from Jinma Town, and two offices, Rixin and Shuangqiao, were set aside from Qianwei town. In 1997, it covers an area of 13 square kilometers and has a population of 30000. It has jurisdiction over four administrative villages: Guanshang, Wuli, Rixin and Shuangqiao. In 2003, Guanshang town was abolished and Guanshang street was established. It was officially established on September 1, 2004. In 2006, it has jurisdiction over six communities: Guanshang, Shuangqiao, Rixin, Fude, Shuangfeng and Xiaojie.

Guanshang No.1 Primary School in Guandu District of Kunming city is a school directly under the Education Bureau of Guandu District.
