Xinba Town, belonging to Guiding County, Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, is located in the north of Guiding County. It is the north gate of Guiding County, 25 kilometers away from the county seat and 69 kilometers away from the provincial capital Guiyang. The geographical coordinates of the town government are 107 ° 08 ′ to 107 ° 15 ′ e, 26 ° 40 ′ to 26 ° 47 ′ n, across the river from Xinpu Township and Dexin town in the East, Luobei River and napang Township in Longli County in the south, Xima Township and Bajiang Township in Longli County in the West and Xianqiao Township in Fuquan City in the north. The total area of the town is 81 square kilometers. The main river is Dumu River, the upstream is Hongyan River and the downstream is Qingshui River.

Historical evolution

In the Qing Dynasty, Xinba was under the jurisdiction of Guiyang government. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914 AD), more than 30 villages of Xinba were allocated to Guiding County, and the ninth district was set up. The district office and the Youth League defense Bureau were set up in Xinba Changba. In 1935, Xinba was the Sixth District. In 1942, Xinba was renamed Ping'an township. At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, Ping'an township was under the jurisdiction of a district. In November 1952, Ping'an township was still a district. In early 1953, Ping'an township was changed into Xinba Township, which was divided into Xinba, jianpo, huchui and other townships under the jurisdiction of one district. In the second half of 1953, jianpo and huzhui were merged into Xinxiang.

In 1958, the people's commune of Singapore and Pakistan was established. In 1959, it was changed into a new management area under the jurisdiction of Xinchang commune. In 1962, the management area of Xinba was changed into the people's commune of Xinba, which is under the jurisdiction of Xinchang district. In 1984, the commune, brigade and production team were renamed Township, village and villager groups. After the "merger and construction" in 1991, Xinba Township and lepang Township were merged and named as the people's Government of Xinba township. In March 1995, Xinba township was established and renamed as Xinba town.

In 2008, there were 3799 households in the town, with a total population of 13329, including 6878 males, 6451 females, 2377 Han nationality, 435 Miao nationality and 10517 Buyi Nationality. There are two fairs in Xinba Town, namely Xinba market and lepang market. Xinba market is one of the four fairs in guiding. The market is 25 kilometers away from the county seat, and the market capacity can reach more than 10000 people. There are credit cooperatives, health centers, cultural stations, tobacco purchasing stations, electrical appliances agency stores, mobile communications, etc. Xinbachang is located in Qingjia and Daozhou (96-1850). It is the largest market and main market in the northern area of Guiding County. With a radiation radius of 20 kilometers, tens of thousands of merchants and people from the county and the surrounding towns such as Longli, Fuquan and Kaiyang all trade here.

Most of the trade activities in the north of the county are carried out here. Traffic construction

Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, the traffic in the territory was blocked, especially on both sides of the Dumu River, the steep cliffs, and the rugged path leading to the county seat. If you are not careful, you will fall off the cliff and valley, and you will be crushed to pieces. There is no bridge on the Dumu river. The current in the river is fast and the rocks are jagged. Passers-by have to cross small wooden boats. In case of flood, safety accidents often occur. In 1959, the construction of GUI (Ding) and Xi (MA) highways began, and it was basically completed in 1962. However, the whole line was not opened to traffic because the single wooden bridge was not completed. In 1967, the bridge was completed and opened to traffic.

In 2006, due to the construction of Dahuashui Hydropower Station and guiding qianjiaka asphalt highway, the old bridge was removed and a new bridge was built. The new bridge was completed in September 2008 and opened to traffic in December. After long-term development and striving for the project, we have built a new socialist countryside. Now, four villages in the town have been connected with roads, and most villages have hardened roads. All villages in the town are connected with electricity, TV and telephone. Educational facilities

Xinba town is the Red Army's long march through the place, is the old cultural area of Guiding County, has a long history of Purple Garlic Planting and deep cultural heritage, known as "red old area", "national culture and art town", "Purple Garlic town". Xinba town is one of the towns with relatively developed cultural and educational undertakings in the whole county. It started to run schools in the early years of the Republic of China. Tourism development

Xinba is the route of the Red Army's Long March. It has a long history of Purple Garlic Planting and deep cultural heritage. The first time was from Qingshui River of Xianqiao Township, Fuquan city to Xinba town of Guiding County from April 6 to 7, 1935; the second time was from January 26 to 27, 1936 to Xinba town of Guiding County through Shuiwei village of Bajiang Township, Longli county. Dumu river is located at the junction of Dexin Town, Luobeihe town and Xinba Town, 18 kilometers away from the county seat and 7 kilometers away from the town government.
