Kaitang town
Kaitang Town, belonging to Kaili City, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, is located in the northeast of Kaili City, adjacent to Taijiang County in the East, sankeshu town in the south, Banghai town in the West and Huangping County in the north, with an administrative area of 49.73 square kilometers.
In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to the Xuanwei Department of Bozhou; in January 1992, the town was established and the township was withdrawn, while kaitang township was retained, and its jurisdiction remained unchanged. On January 29, 2016, kaitang township was abolished and kaitang town was established. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of the town was 24547. As of June 2020, kaitang town has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in kaitang village.
In 2015, kaitang town completed fixed asset investment of 120 million yuan, and the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 7008 yuan. In 2018, kaitang town has 12 industrial enterprises and 4 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Xuanwei Department of Bozhou.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Qingping county.
In 1913, it was the Second District of Lushan County.
In 1932, kaitang town and four townships including Baiyan, Huangni, Kaixuan and kaishao were established.
In 1936, the township was replaced by kaitang united insurance.
In 1941, kaitang township was established.
In 1953, kaitang township was divided into kaitang, kaishao, baishuidong and Nankai.
In 1958, Qianjin commune was set up; in December of the same year, one district and one commune were implemented, belonging to Panghai commune.
In 1961, kaitang commune and baishuidong commune were established.
In 1966, baishuidong commune was incorporated into kaitang commune.
In May 1984, kaitang commune was transformed into a township.
In January 1992, the town was built, the township was merged, and the district was withdrawn. Kaitang township was retained, and the area under its jurisdiction remained unchanged.
On January 29, 2016, kaitang township was abolished and kaitang town was established.

In the southeast of kaitang Town, there are weak karst low and middle mountains composed of dolomite, and the rest are weak karst ridge low mountains composed of dolomite. The terrain is slightly higher in the southeast and lower in the northwest. Most of the mountains are north-south. The highest point is located in the dry fried Book peak, 1050 meters above sea level; the lowest point is located in the Qingshui River, 529 meters above sea level, at the junction of Huangping county and Taijiang county.
