Gukai Miao Yi Township, belonging to Nayong County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, is located in the north of Nayong County, adjacent to Weixin town in the East and northeast, Dongdi Miao Yi Township in the southeast, guoquanyan Miao Yi Township in the south, Songlinpo Bai Yi Miao Township in Hezhang County in the southwest, Yangchang Miao Yi Township in the west, northwest and North, with an administrative area of 97.47 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Dading Prefecture; in 1984, it was changed to gukai Miao Yi township; in November 1992, Anping village of Yindi Miao Yi Township and Aoshu Miao Yi township was merged into gukai Miao Yi township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of the Miao and Yi people was 42439. As of June 2020, gukai Miao Yi township has jurisdiction over one community and 13 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in gukai community.
