Yuancun Town, belonging to Jinsha County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, is located in the east of Jinsha County, bordering Shiban Town, Bozhou District, Zunyi City in the East, guantian Township in the south, Shatu town in the West and Mukong town in the north, with an administrative area of 87.74 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to yongfengli, Qianxi Prefecture; in May 1992, Yuancun, Puhui and Shiliu, which belonged to the original sandy soil area, were merged into Yuancun. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the source towns was 28622. As of June 2020, Yuancun town has jurisdiction over 4 communities and 5 administrative villages.
In 2011, the total revenue of Yuancun was 78 million yuan, an increase of 69.2% over the previous year. The local fiscal revenue was 37 million yuan, an increase of 71.6% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in Yuancun Town, including 2 large-scale enterprises and 41 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to yongfengli, Qianxi Prefecture.
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Shishui township of Qianxi County.
From 1951 to 1992, it belongs to sandy soil area of Jinsha County.
In May 1992, Yuancun Township, Puhui Township and Shiliu Township were merged into Yuancun township.
In 2013, Yuancun township was built from township.

Taoyuan cave is located on the hillside of Taohua mountain in the village group of sanmutang, Rongsheng village, Yuancun town. Local residents call it Bat Cave (because there are many bats in the cave). The length of the cave is 4 kilometers, the highest part is 100 meters, and the widest part is more than 30 meters. There are many cultural heritages in the cave, such as goddess of mercy, Jigong opera of Chang'e, lion greeting, fairy scattering flowers, Chang'e flying to the moon, sun monkey stealing flat peach, old birthday star, arhat drying belly, Buddha chanting, Meng Jiangnu crying Great Wall, stone forest, ancient poetry on the ceiling of Tianshu building, stone paintings, Chinese, oracle bone inscriptions, Tibetan and so on. It is said that Zhuge Liang hid in this cave during the Three Kingdoms period (there is a tomb in the cave as evidence).
It is said that Shaolong temple in Yuancun town is one of the three major Buddhist temples in Qianxi of Guizhou Province (Houshan wenggong Tianling temple, mukongwanzi Chaoyang temple, and Shishui Shaolong temple in Yuancun) during the "KangQian heyday" of the Qing Dynasty. Among the three major Buddhist temples, "Fangzhu" is used in Tianling temple, "nanmu" is used in Chaoyang temple, "miangui" is used in Shaolong temple, and "Fangzhu" in Tianling temple and "nanmu" in Chaoyang temple have disappeared. Only "miangui" in Shaolong temple is still fragrant.
