Huaxi Yi and Miao township is located in the northeast of the county, between 106.30-106.32 degrees east longitude and 27.21-27.22 degrees north latitude. It borders Gaoping and Huajue townships of Jinsha County in the East, Tailai Township across the river in the south, Zhongping town in the West and Zhongjian Township in the north, 63.5 kilometers away from the County. The township party and government organs are located in Huaxi Group, Huaxi village.
Name and origin
Because there is a stream flowing all the year round in the territory, the water will turn from turbid to clear in a short time in case of rainstorm, and there are various kinds of Camellia on both sides of the river, which is commonly known as Huaxi, hence the name of the township.

It is located in the northeast of Qianxi County, bordering Gaoping and Huajue townships of Jinsha County in the East, Yi and Miao townships of Tailai County across the river in the south, Zhongping town in the West and Zhongjian Township in the north. Evolution of administrative districts

In May 1953, it was divided into four townships: Huaxi, jiekui, Shaba and Gengdi.
In June 1957, jiekui township was changed into Yi Miao Township and Gengdi Township into Yi township.
In September 1958, the communes were transformed into townships.

In July 1991, four townships of Huaxi, jiekui, Gengdi and Shaba were merged into the Yi and Miao townships of Huaxi.

The rural area is hilly land. The altitude of the township is 1200-1450 meters, the temperature is 13.7-14.2 degrees Celsius, the average annual rainfall is 1050 mm, and the frost free period is 270 days. There is a river in the south of the township, flowing into Wujiang River through Erhai, which has a large flow.
Infrastructure conditions in the township have been continuously improved. In terms of transportation, the waterway can go from Yeji river wharf to Zunyi, a famous historical city, via Wujiang power station reservoir area in the north, to Guiyang in the south, and to Guibi high-grade highway in the West via Qianjin oil road in the land, 70 km away from Qianxi thermal power plant and 30 km away from Qianbei thermal power plant.
