It is a township level administrative unit under the jurisdiction of Meigu County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, people's Republic of China. It is located in the south of Meigu county. It is connected with wagu Township in the East and northeast, Lamu ajue Township in the south, luooyigan Township in the West and Ziwei Township in the northwest. The township government is located in jijuerqi village, 1800 meters above sea level.
It is about 58 kilometers away from the county seat, and there is no road. The rural area is 37.4 square kilometers. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, with an altitude of 1400-3200 meters. It has jurisdiction over 5 villages (27 groups) including jijuerqi, Sekou, Walu, yire and Jiala, with a total of 559 households and 2499 people, including 2498 Yi and 1 Han. The population density is 66.82 per square kilometer.
The township was established in January 1956. In October 1958, the Township People's Committee was established. In July 1968, the Township Reform Commission was established. In March 1974, it was converted into a commune. On July 12, 1981, the commune reform committee was changed into the management committee. In July 1984, the township system was restored and a township government was set up.
On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's government decided to abolish Erqi Township and establish Lama town. The administrative region of the original Erqi township is the administrative region of Lama town. The people's Government of Lama town is located at No. 1, luobucaiga street, luobucaiga village.
In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the township was 846400 yuan (306600 yuan for agriculture, 88600 yuan for forestry, 247100 yuan for animal husbandry, 204100 yuan for sideline and fishery); the area of cultivated land was 4408 mu, and the total grain output was 826000 kg. The main products are corn, potato, buckwheat, walnut and pepper. There are 1014 yellow cattle, 24 Buffalo, 148 horses, 2910 pigs, 2619 goats and 2510 sheep. There are 1 commercial purchasing and marketing group and 1 Bank Credit Union in the township, 2 rural primary schools with 80 students, 1 health center and 1 medical staff.
