Evolution of organizational system
The meaning of tiger in the Yi language of "Lamo" got its name because before liberation, the countryside was densely forested, and there were often tigers and other animals. Lamu township was established in 1957 and merged into BOLUO Township in 1958. In 1960, it was the Lamu brigade of sijue people's commune. The township system was restored in 1961, Lamu people's commune was established in 1973 and renamed Lamo people's commune in 1981. In 1985, the commune was withdrawn to restore the township system and named Lamo township. At the end of 1992, the township was withdrawn to build a service station, and Lamo township was restored in 1994. on June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Lamo township.
