GABA Township
GABA township is under the jurisdiction of Kangding City, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. GABA township is located in the west of the city, 75 kilometers away from the urban area. It covers an area of 459 square kilometers and has a population of 3981 (2017). Ying (Guan) Jiu (long) highway is connected with national highway 318. It has 12 village committees, including liqu and GABA upper and lower villages, Zilong, Siche, Tala upper and lower villages, Tiesuo, Julong and Mulong, and erdamaiba 1 and erdamaiba 2.
Historical evolution
In 1957, GABA township was established; in 1966, GABA commune was rebuilt; in 1975, GABA commune was renamed; in 1984, GABA township was restored.
economic development
GABA township is a semi farming and semi pastoral Township, which is dominated by forestry and animal husbandry. It is an important timber producing area in Ganzi Prefecture and Kangding city.
