Guangwushan town

Guangwushan town is subordinate to Nanjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province. It is located at the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi. It is 60km away from the historic city of Hanzhong in the north, 35km away from Nanjiang County in the south, and Wangcang in Guangyuan in the West. It is located in the heart of Guangwushan national scenic spot and the "Golden Triangle" of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Chongqing tourism. The territory has convenient transportation, with the access of Bashan Expressway and G244 national road running through the territory.

On December 23, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Bazhong City to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in three counties (districts), including Bazhou District (cfzm [2019] No. 23): zhaipo township was canceled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Guangwushan Town, and Guangwushan town's people's government was stationed at No. 111 Bayi street.

Basic information

Guangwushan Town, formerly known as Taoyuan Town, was established in August 1998 after the abolition of Taoyuan Township and Huaishu township. It was renamed Guangwushan town in April 2005. Guangwushan town is located in the North-South climate boundary of China, the birthplace of Jiaojia River tributary in the upper reaches of Jialing River and the source of Bahe River in the upper reaches of Qujiang River. The annual average temperature is 12.6 ℃, the average rainfall is 1290 mm, and the frost free period reaches 280 days. It is a typical subtropical monsoon humid climate with abundant rainfall and pleasant climate in four seasons. It is known as "natural oxygen bar".

In December 2019, zhaipo township was merged into Guangwushan town. The town governs 8 administrative villages, 49 villager groups, 7 communities, 1475 households, a total of 5897 people. It covers an area of 642 square kilometers. The territory is rich in resources, including iron ore, gold ore, marble, granite and other mineral deposits. There are 46 species of rare plants such as Taxus chinensis, Ginkgo biloba and Sabina vulgaris, and 30 thousand mu of plant "living fossil" - Cyclobalanopsis balashanensis. It is the largest and most concentrated native place of Cyclobalanopsis glauca in China and even in the world. The autumn red leaf landscape has the reputation of "the longest natural red carpet in Asia"; there are 195 species of rare wild animals such as Schizothorax, giant salamander, macaque and black bear. The rivers in the territory have abundant water throughout the year, and the water quality is always above grade I. the air quality is excellent throughout the year, and the content of negative oxygen ions in the air exceeds 30000 per cubic centimeter.

Historical evolution

Guangwushan Town, formerly known as Taoyuan Town, was established in 1998 after the original Taoyuan Township and Huaishu Township were abolished. In April 2005, the four state-owned forest farms of Yuquan, Dajiangkou, Daba and weijiaba and the administrative area of Daba village group of Shiyang village in guanba Township were incorporated into Guangwushan town. In December 2019, the people's town government of Sichuan Province approved the cancellation of zhaipo Township and put its administrative area under the jurisdiction of Guangwushan town. In April 2018, Guangwu mountain nuoshui River World Geopark was successfully established.
