Caochi Township, located in the northwest of Tongjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, is 22 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to chijiang River in the East, Daxing and torch in the south, Huilin Township in the west, Fuyang and Chenhe in the north. The township governs 6 administrative villages, 51 agricultural cooperatives, 6580 people (2017), covering an area of 36.8 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 60%. The economy is dominated by planting and breeding, mainly producing rice, wheat, rape and other crops; the breeding industry is dominated by breeding pigs, cattle, sheep and small poultry.
On May 25, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish caochi township.
