On December 11, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns in Ya'an City (cfgm [2019] No. 14): the Yi Township and Xianfeng Tibetan Township in Anshun City were abolished and Anshun town was established. The administrative area of Anshun town was the former Yi Township and Xianfeng Tibetan Township, and Anshun Town People's government was stationed at No. 66, group 3, Anshun village.

Anshun town is located in Shimian County, Sichuan Province. In 2019, Anshun Yi Township and Xianfeng Tibetan Township were abolished and Anshun town was established. The former Anshun Yi nationality township and Xianfeng Tibetan township are the administrative regions of Anshun town. The people's Government of Anshun town is located at No. 66, group 3, Anshun Village (the former people's Government of Anshun Yi nationality township).

On July 29, 2020, Anshunchang town was reconfirmed as a national health township (county) by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
