It is located on the North Bank of the upper reaches of Liushahe River, 55 km northwest of Hanyuan County, surrounded by towering mountains and low and flat central valley. Its geographical location is 29 ° 39 ′ N and 102 ° 26 ′ E. It borders Rongjing county with daxuebao, guangdongshan and Damagang in the north, Liyuan Township in the south, Dayan Township in the East and Sanjiao Township in the West. Covering an area of 104.68 square kilometers, it governs 16 villager committees and 119 villager groups in Maosheng, Tiangang, Changrong, Fuxiang, Haiyin, yin'an, Xinshi, Guanhua, Guang'an, Da'an, Qun'an, Zhong'an, Yongding, Haiting, Linzheng and Xinlin. The town government is located in Yidong, with an altitude of 1465 meters. It was formerly known as nitou post.

On December 11, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Ya'an City to adjust the administrative divisions of some townships (cfzm [2019] No. 14): Sanjiao Township and Liyuan Township were canceled, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Yidong Town, whose people's government was stationed at No. 1, Tiangang Village.

Yidong town is located in the northwest of Hanyuan County, Ya'an City, 55 kilometers away from the county. It is located in the upper reaches of Liusha River, bordering Yingjing County in the north, Liyuan Township in the south, Fuzhuang town in the East and Sanjiao Township in the west, covering an area of 104.68 square kilometers. History and culture

Yidong town has a long history, a prosperous style of writing and a simple folk custom. Yidongchang town is an important post station on the ancient tea horse road (called nitou post in ancient times). Its urban pattern and ancient buildings since the late Qing Dynasty are well preserved. The ancient style of ancient tea shop and luomadian still exists. Yidong town was also the site of the Soviet regime when the Red Army crossed the border in Hanyuan County, which had a far-reaching influence on the Red Army's cultural revolution tradition. At the same time, there is No.3 middle school in Hanyuan County, with profound cultural background. An ancient stone arch bridge, named Huguo bridge, was built in the late Qing Dynasty. Behind the Chen family compound on the west side of the village, there is a small leaved Euonymus. This ancient tree was planted by the builders of the Chen family compound.
