Yudai Township

General situation
Wanyuan has a long history. The Xia and Shang dynasties belong to Liangzhou, the Zhou to Yongzhou, and the Qin to Dangqu county. From Han Dynasty to Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Dongxiang County, Tongchuan County, Dazhou. In 1515, Taiping County was set up in Taiping li of jiedongxiang County, which became the present-day area in Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty. In 1914, it was renamed as Wanyuan county because it had the same name as Taiping County in Anhui Province, which means that "there are Wanqing pools in the northeast of the county, and most of the water in neighboring cities comes from here". From 1933 to 1935, the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army established the Sichuan Shaanxi revolutionary base, and successively established three Soviet governments in Wanyuan, Hongsheng and Chengkou counties. In February 1935, the red army withdrew and the Kuomintang government restored the original county. Wanyuan was liberated on December 29, 1949, and belonged to Dazhou District of northern Sichuan administrative office. In 1952, it belonged to Daxian District of Sichuan Province. In July 1993, Wanyuan city was established by merging Wanyuan county and Baisha industrial and agricultural district.
