Pingtan town

Pingtan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Yuechi County in Sichuan Province, is an important town in the southwest of Yuechi County. It is 28 kilometers away from Yuechi County. Jialing River flows through the southwest of the town. Beautiful Jialing River and Lanhai Expressway (South Chongqing Section) run through the town. It is a provincial pilot town in Sichuan Province.

On December 11, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some townships in Guang'an City (cfzm [2019] No. 16): Jialing township was cancelled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Pingtan Town, whose people's government was stationed at No. 40, Xiaoping street.

A brief introduction to the town

Pingtan Town, located in the southwest of Yuechi County, is adjacent to longkong town in the East, Huangshi Township in wusheng County in the south, Liemian town in wusheng County in the west, Zhenyu town and Xiban town in the north. Historical evolution

Pingtan town has a long history. Pingtan post was set up in Ming Dynasty. Pingtan township was established in 1921. It was changed into a commune in 1958. It was renamed Hongguang commune in 1966. In 1971, it was restored to Pingtan commune. In 1984, it was restored to township. In 1985, it was established and Baohua township was incorporated in 1992. As of 2011, the town has 26 villages and one community.

Town economy
