Xijie town

Xijie town is located in the southern edge of Sichuan Basin, northwest of Yibin City, on the Bank of Minjiang River. It is the production base of Sichuan famous liquor cuihe Laojiao. It is one of the 100 famous towns in China.

Xijie town is located in the lower reaches of Minjiang River, connecting caiba town in the East, Baixi town in the south, Gaochang town in the West and SIPO town in Cuiping District in the north. It is only 13 km away from Yibin City and 17 km away from Yibin County. Yibin Ring Expressway, national highway 318 and Yiping express channel are the main parts of the town. Chengdu Guiyang high-speed railway passes through the town. The water, land and air transportation is very convenient and has obvious location advantages.

Xijie town in Xuzhou district is only 13 kilometers away from Yibin City and 17 kilometers away from the county. It is a typical suburban town. The origin of the name

The original name of the built-up area of Xijie town was niushitubian. Niushitubian got its name because the cattle needed for farming on the North Bank of Minjiang River and the vegetable cattle eaten by the residents in Yibin City were traded here. Because the market was full of hoof marks and cattle manure, it was called niushitubian. Later, the local people thought the name of niushitubian was indecent, so they changed it to Niuxi Tubian. In the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Niu Xi Chang. In January 1916, the "Xufu" battle in the national defense war won the great victory of niuxichang. In order to commemorate the great victory of niuxichang, niuxichang was renamed as Xijie in the early years of the Republic of China.

Xijie town was called niukouzhuang in the Tang, song, yuan and Ming Dynasties.
