Sanbao Township, belonging to Huai'an County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Huai'an County, bordering Taipingzhuang Township in the East, huashaoying town of Yangyuan County in the south, Huaian town in the west, Toubaihu town in the north, and Toubaihu town in the north. It is 30.4km away from the people's Government of Huai'an County, with a total area of 137.51km2.
In 1949, Sanbao Township belonged to three districts of Huai'an County; in 1984, Sanbao commune was changed into Sanbao township. As of June 2020, Sanbao village has jurisdiction over 34 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Sanbao village.

In 1949, Sanbao Township belonged to three districts of Huai'an county.
In 1958, it belonged to Dongfeng commune.

In February 1996, Caojiazhuang township was merged into Sanbao township.
