On December 13, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of 8 counties (cities, districts) including Shizhong District (cfzm [2019] No. 20): gaotan Township and Yancheng town were abolished and Yancheng street was established. The administrative area of Yancheng street was the former administrative area of gaotan Township and Yancheng Town, and Yancheng Street office was located at No. 7 Minzhu street.

On December 13, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the cancellation of gaotan Township and Yancheng town and the establishment of Yancheng street. The former administrative region of gaotan Township and Yancheng town is the administrative region of Yancheng street. Yancheng Street office is located at No. 7, Minzhu street.
