Jiachuan town

Jiachuan town is located 10km to the west of Wangcang County and 56km to the east of Guangyuan City, covering an area of 96.5km2. It governs 20 villages and 5 neighborhood committees, with a total population of 54000, including 24000 agricultural population. The territory has a mild climate with an average annual temperature of 16 ℃, frost free period of 250 days, annual rainfall of 920.9mm and average altitude of 400m. The terrain of the town is flat, and 10 village (neighborhood) committees are distributed along the highway and railway. Jiachuan has a long history. As early as in the northern and Southern Dynasties (AD 420), Songxi County and Xingle county were set up here. In the first year of emperor Gong of the Western Wei Dynasty (AD 554), Xingle county was changed to Jiachuan county, and Jiachuan county was set up again in the fourth year of Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (1371). Jiachuan county was abolished in the 23rd year. It was subordinate to baizhangbao in the Qing Dynasty. After several twists and turns after the founding of the people's Republic of China, Jiachuan town was established in 1992 by withdrawing the district and building a township. As early as 1993, the social and economic strength ranked among the top 200 towns in Sichuan Province.

On May 7, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Guangyuan City to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Cangxi County and other three counties (cfgm [2020] No. 1): Shangwu town was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Jiachuan town. Jiachuan has convenient transportation. A few days ago, cultural relic experts found Jiachuan government office, a nearly intact Military Office of Zhechong in Tang Dynasty, more than 1300 years ago, 8 kilometers west of Wangcang County.

Jiachuan yamen is located in the mijiaba of the eighth community of Shilong village, Jiachuan Town, now it has been used as a folk house. It is 38 meters long from north to South and 28 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 1064 square meters. The Yamen is in the shape of eight characters. The East and west walls are made of portrait bricks. The patterns on the bricks are clearly visible. There are rhinoceros, unicorn and so on. The workmanship is very exquisite. There is a 6-meter-long and 1.5-meter-wide corridor outside the Yamen. At the south end of the corridor is a huge screen wall. There are three halls in Yamen. The first two halls are hall, and the third hall is hall. On both sides of each hall are wing rooms, whose walls are made of special pattern bricks. There is a patio paved with stone slabs between the halls, and a corridor connecting the hall in the middle. The floor of the hall and the corridor is made of square bricks, with the words of "Fu", "Lu", "Shou", "Xi" and the exquisite brick portraits of the sun and the moon, singing and dancing. The doors, windows and eaves of the Yamen are ornate, and the birds and animals on the street pillars are exquisitely carved. Apart from the Zhaobi, the third hall and the hall of Yang Rongsheng in front of the yamen, the rest of the military system are well preserved.

According to the research of the vice chairman and deputy research librarian of Guangyuan Folk Artists Association, Jiachuan Prefecture is one of the 634 Zhechong prefectures set up in the whole country by Li Shimin in in the early Tang Dynasty. It was set up in the fourth year of Wude (621 A.D.), and is a military Prefecture directly under the central management, which is also military and agricultural. In the middle of Tang Dynasty, the "Fu Bing system" was abolished, Zhechong Prefecture was incorporated into the local government, and Jiachuan Prefecture was also abolished. However, Fu Ya was still used as a military stronghold until the Song Dynasty. Yang Rongsheng said that the building complex of "Jiachuan mansion" has been 1384 years ago and is still well preserved. It has to be said that it is a miracle in the history of ancient Chinese architecture. It is a rare cultural heritage for the study of Tang Dynasty history, architecture, sculpture art and military reclamation folk culture.
