Jiuzhi town is located in the southwest edge of Hejiang County, Sichuan Province, and connected with the first bridge of Chishui City. It covers an area of 121.75 square kilometers and governs 12 villages, 85 villager groups and 2 communities with a total population of 52137 (2017). In 2005, the GDP was 130.25 million yuan, the fiscal revenue was 4.425 million yuan, the local fiscal revenue was 2.638 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 3409 yuan.
In September 2016, Jiuzhi town was listed as a national key town.
On December 6, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Luzhou city to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in four counties (districts) including Jiangyang district (cfzm [2019] No. 12): Wutong town was canceled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Jiuzhi Town, and Jiuzhi Town People's government was stationed at No. 93 Guangchang road.
History of construction
After 1949, Jiuzhi township was set up, the commune was changed in 1958, the township was restored in 1983, the town was established in 1986, and Panlong township was incorporated in 1992. It faces Chishui City of Guizhou Province across the river in the East, Wutong town in the south, suokou Township in the West and Erli Township in the north. In 2002, with an area of 44.4 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages, 85 villager groups and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 21115, including 17770 agricultural population and 3345 non-agricultural population. In 2004, it has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages and 2 communities, covering an area of 44.4 square kilometers, with a total population of 28000, including 12000 permanent residents in market towns.
In 2006, suokou township was abolished and merged into Jiuzhi town. Suokou Township
Located in the southwest of Hejiang County, 50 kilometers away from the county. It is connected with Yaoba town of Erli Township in the East, Chishui City and Jiuzhi town in the south, Wutong town and Dagu town in Naxi District in the west, and Baijie town in Naxi District in the north.
Suokou township was set up in 1950, and Longdong commune management area was set up in 1958.
