Dongping Street

Dongping street is located in the northwest of Yuetang District, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, with a total area of about 6 square kilometers. It governs three community neighborhood committees and more than 20 Street units, with a total population of 12633 people (2010). It is a typical urban-rural fringe in Yuetang district.

General situation

The jurisdiction area is located in the west of Xiangtan No.1 Bridge, adjacent to Jianshe middle road in the East, Lanyuan road in the south, Xiangjiang River in the north, and Xiacheng Heping, Shunjiang and Lianhe villages in the West. The total area of the jurisdiction area is 8 square kilometers. It governs three communities, namely Sanjiaoping, Hengjie and Wanfu, with 57 residents' groups, 3526 households and 13654 people. Family planning work

Civilization construction

Taking the construction of community service centers and the creation of harmonious communities as an opportunity, we increased the construction of civic schools at all levels in the streets. Throughout the year, civic schools in the streets and communities opened 42 classes, with more than 2000 people receiving education. In early 2010, the street printed and distributed 1000 copies of "a letter to all residents of Dongping Street"; in Qianping of Jianshe Road market, a large-scale comprehensive and centralized publicity activity of "four into community" was carried out; the city environment improvement action was actively carried out to welcome the Provincial Games, and 200 copies of "a letter to address the business owners of stores along the street" were distributed; and a series of activities were carried out A series of "four into the community" activities with the theme of "advocating low-carbon life and promoting scientific development" exhibited 6 science popularization and fire control display boards, 6 banners, and distributed nearly 1500 copies of "how to prevent and treat diabetes" and other materials, which achieved good results. We should vigorously strengthen the ideological and moral education of minors, actively carry out legal training such as anti drug, anti cult and anti pyramid marketing, publicize "smoking is harmful" and promote healthy living habits; we should build three community libraries and a community basketball court throughout the year, run various legal training classes, and standardize the management of Internet cafes. There are no juvenile delinquency cases in the whole street throughout the year. We actively carried out the activities of reading into the community, established, improved and conscientiously implemented the "five ones" reading activities for government officials, which "you read and I pay", and made clear the methods for evaluating excellent reading notes. On August 13, in Wanfu community, the street held the launching ceremony of the "Nationwide Reading" activity with the theme of "knowing books and being polite, creating harmony together", presenting more than 100 books to residents. Through the centralized comments of leaders, one first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes of reading notes were selected.

Environmental improvement

Street leaders attach great importance to the construction of civilization, and put it into the annual key work. We should take the opportunity of building municipal civilized units, actively carry out civilization building activities, and strive to improve the quality of citizens' civilization and the degree of urban civilization. A leading group for the creation of streets has been set up to study and formulate a work plan, refine and decompose the responsibility for the creation, sign letters of responsibility with streets, communities and resident units at all levels, and comprehensively deploy the creation work. We should improve the mechanism of establishing work network, and ensure that there are creation plans, systems and measures, responsibilities and tasks, quantitative indicators, inspection and evaluation, and rewards and punishments. Improve the living environment, and strive to create a "clean Dongping". Carry out in-depth and lasting action to create "clean Dongping". Strengthen the daily urban environmental management, strengthen the assessment, establish the joint logistics linkage management mechanism, seriously organize the special rectification action of city appearance and environment, make every effort to control the environmental health order in the jurisdiction, and improve the urban quality. Since August 2010, with the city and district level, Jianshe middle road has been beautified, the road quality of Fuxing West Road, Dongsi road and Donghu West Road has been improved, the shop signboards on both sides of Dongsi road have been unified, the urban infrastructure has been comprehensively improved, and the city appearance environment has been greatly improved. According to statistics, a total of 1104 garbage trucks have been cleared in the streets throughout the year; 136 health dead spots have been cleared; 3431 "psoriasis" have been cleared; 7177 meters of weeds have been cleared along community roads; 4423 meters of canals and ditches have been dredged and treated; 173 nonstandard billboards and 163 banner advertisements have been demolished; 162 road occupied businesses have been renovated; 121 shops have been renovated; and illegal construction on main roads have been demolished 145 square meters, 91 signboards.
