Spiritual civilization construction
Liemai township is the famous birthplace of "liemai spirit" in Tibet. In the 1960s, there was a shortage of grain in liemai township. In 1966, Ren zengwangjie, then Secretary of the Party branch of liemai commune, led the masses of liemai township to reclaim land and grow grain in sangqinba (later renamed as "revolutionary dam"). It took one year to pick up nearly 1000 cubic meters of stones, grind more than 1000 plowheads, pickaxes and shovels, and reclaim 1100 mu of wasteland. After the "revolutionary dam" was opened to wasteland, it encountered the problem of water diversion and irrigation at an altitude of more than 4200 meters. The "dry as you say" has already become the tenacity of the people of liemai. With their indomitable, self reliant and hard-working spirit, they built a water diversion and canal, and a 7 km long Panshan canal came into being. This great spirit of hard work and striving for a happy life is defined as "the spirit of liemer". in July 2018, the team of liemai Township participated in the knowledge competition of "learning, thinking, practicing, understanding, guarding the soil and consolidating the border" held by Longzi County, and won the first prize.
