Anzi Town, subordinate to Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the southeast of Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, adjacent to Meiziya town in the East, Youyang County in the south, Shangan Township in the west, Lujiao town and zhufo Township in the north, 40 kilometers away from the government of Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, with a total area of 126.04 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Anzi town belonged to Meizi township; in November 2011, it was changed from Anzi township to Anzi town. By the end of 2018, the population of the registered residence in the town was 17129. As of June 2020, Anzi town has 2 communities and 7 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of the town is located in anzitou.

History of construction
Anzi town gets its name because the terrain of its jurisdiction is like a saddle.
In the Qing Dynasty, Meizi township was established.
In 1929, it was separated from Meizi Township and renamed as Shi'an Township and Yong'an township.
In November 1953, it was established from Yong'an township to Xin'an township.
In January 1956, Xin'an township was renamed Xinhua township.
In September 1958, Yong'an township was transformed into Yong'an commune.
In June 1981, Yong'an commune changed its name to Anzi commune.
In January 1984, Anzi commune was changed into Anzi township.
In August 2001, Xinhua township was merged into Anzi township.
In November 2011, Anzi township was changed from township to town.
