Daxie Town, subordinate to Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the northwest of Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, adjacent to Sanhe Town and Longsha town in the East, Nanbin street and Xialu street in the south, Shizi Township in Zhongxian County in the west, Gaojia town in Fengdu County in the southwest, Wanchao town in the north, and 10km away from the residence of Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County Government, with a total area of 128.5km.
In the 14th year of Hongwu (1381), Daxie town was assigned to Wujia of xixiyuanli, Xuanfu Town, shilao County; in December 2009, Daxie town was changed from Daxie town to Daxie town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 24281. As of June 2020, Daxie town has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is stationed in Daxie village.
The main food crops in Daxie town are rice and corn; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, cattle, sheep, rabbits and poultry; the main industry is building materials, mining and wood processing. In 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises in Daxie Town, including one above scale and nine comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the 14th year of Hongwu (1381) of Ming Dynasty, Nanbin county was withdrawn and assigned to Wujia in xixiyuan of shilao Xuanfu.
In 1930, Daxie town was established. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it was changed to daxiexiang, which was subordinate to the first district.
On February 2, 1953, ganbai township was established in Daxie Township, and Gaomiao township was established in June of the same year.
In December 1956, Gaomiao, Yangliu and ganbai townships were merged into Daxie township.
In September 1958, Daxie township was changed into Daxie commune.
In November 1983, Daxie commune was changed into daxiexiang.
In December 2009, Daxie township was changed from township to town.
