Anping Town, subordinate to Fengjie County of Chongqing, is located in the Midwest of Fengjie County, adjacent to Yongle Town in the East, Xinmin Town, Wuma town and Jiagao town in the south, Longdong township of Yunyang County in the west, Yangtze River in the north, Zhuyi town and Kangping Township across the river, with a total area of 144.69 square kilometers.
In the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, Anping town belonged to Nanan Duli; in June 2010, Anping township was changed into Anping town. By the end of 2018, the population of Anping town registered residence was 39961. As of June 2020, Anping town has 3 communities and 9 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located at 678 Zheng'an Road, Xiaba community.

History of construction
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it belongs to the south bank.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to anpingyi township.
In 1916, it was transferred to the third district. The eighth year of the Republic of China (1919), belongs to the new word group. In 1930, it belonged to Xinzi township. In 1935, it was a new word Lianbao. In 1936, it was changed to the first district. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it belonged to Xinzi township; in August of the same year, it belonged to Xin'an township.
In September 1953, Xin'an township was divided into Xin'an, Xiaocao, Huangshi and Xinzhi.
In November 1955, Xin'an Township and Xiaocao Township were merged into Xinzhi township; in December of the same year, Huangshi township was renamed Anping township.
In July 2004, Xinzhi township was merged into Anping township.
In June 2010, Anping township was removed and Anping town was established.
