Tongcheng Town, subordinate to Wuxi County of Chongqing, is located in the east of Wuxi County, adjacent to Lanying township of Wuxi County in the East, Baiyun township of Wushan County in the south, Chengxiang town of Wuxi County in the West and Shuangyang township of Wuxi County in the north. It is 15 kilometers away from the residence of Wuxi County Government, with a total area of 102.48 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Tongcheng was one of the top 15 cities in Tongcheng; in June 2009, Tongcheng was changed from urban to rural. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence households in urban areas was 17682. As of June 2020, Tongcheng Town has one community and 12 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of Tongcheng Town is located at 114 Tonghong street.

History of construction
