Baoping Town, subordinate to Yunyang County of Chongqing, is located in the south of Yunyang County, bordering Xinjin Township and Pu'an Township in the East, Longjiao town in the south, Fengming town in the west, and the Yangtze River in the north. It is 28 kilometers away from the residence of Yunyang County Government, with a total area of 123.5 square kilometers.
In the Ming Dynasty, Baoping town was located in rennli, Juren township; in September 1992, it was merged into Baoping town from Shuimo Township, shuangba Township and Baoping township. By the end of 2018, the population of Bao Ping town registered residence was 42879. As of June 2020, Baoping town has 2 communities and 12 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Baoping town is located in xinjiwei, Chaoyang community.
The main food crops in Baoping town are rice, wheat, corn, sweet potato and potato; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep and poultry; the main fishery is running water fish. History of construction
In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to the benevolent village of Juren.
In the middle of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to shuimojia of Nanxiang; in the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Wulong township.
In 1930, Chaoyang township was established from Shuimo township. In 1940, Chaoyang township was merged into Shuimo township. In 1942, Chaoyang township was set up from Shuimo Township, belonging to the first guidance area.
In April 1953, Chaoyang township was divided into five small townships: Dongyang, Guiping, Xingfu, Chaoyang and Shuangping.
In December 1955, five small townships were merged into Chaoyang Township, belonging to Longjiao district.
In July 1958, Chaoyang commune was established in Chaoyang township.
In April 1961, shuangba commune was set up by five brigades from Chaoyang commune.
In January 1981, Chaoyang commune was renamed Baoping commune.
In September 1984, Baoping commune was changed into Baoping township.
In September 1992, Shuimo Township, shuangba Township and Baoping Township were merged into Baoping town.
In October 1995, Shuimo Township emerged in Baoping town.
In July 2006, Shuimo township was merged into Baoping town.

As of June 2020, Baoping town has 2 communities and 12 administrative villages: Chaoyang community, Shuimo community, Guiping village, Diping village, Fuqiang village, Jiangnan village, Fenghuang village, Yonggao village, Hongdian village, Zaoshu village, Meitan village, Dashi village, shuangba village and Hehua village. The town people's government is stationed in xinjiwei, Chaoyang community.
