Sijing town
Sijing Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Songjiang District of Shanghai, is located in the southwest of Shanghai and the northeast of Songjiang District, about 27 km away from the city center, 13 km away from the county seat, and 2.4 km away from national highway 318 in the north. With a total area of 23.48 square kilometers, it has one community committee, 39 neighborhood committees and 180339 permanent residents (2017).
Sijing town is located in tongbojing, waibojing, Dongjing and Zhangjing.
Historical evolution
In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Wu.
At the beginning of the Warring States period, Wu belonged to Yue, and later to Chu.
Qin (206 BC) belongs to Shuixian County, the prefect of Kuaiji. In the 37th year of Emperor Qinshihuang (210 BC), Changshui county was changed to Quanxian county.
In the fourth year of Yongjian in the Eastern Han Dynasty (129), Wujun was under the jurisdiction of Quan county.
In the third year of Wu Huanglong (231), boxing was changed to Hexing. In the fifth year of chiwu (242), Hexing was changed into Jiaxing.
In 326, the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Wu Jun was changed into Wu state. Jiaxing, Haiyan and Lou counties were transferred to Wu state.
In 420, the state of Wu was still changed to Wujun.
Liang Tianjian six years (507), cut Lou County, into Xinyi County, under the jurisdiction of Xinyi county. In the first year of Datong (535), Kunshan county was established as the original Lou County of Xinyi county.
Tang Tianbao ten years (751), Wu County governor Zhao Juzhen played the south of Kunshan, Jiaxing East, Haiyan, home Huating county. Sijing area belongs to Huating county.
During the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), farmers and fishermen took advantage of the four rivers of Waibo, Tongbo, Dongjing and Zhangjing to build houses and settle down next to guhuipu (now tongbotang), forming a village called Huibo village, which was the beginning of Sijing town. During the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), due to the change of geographical conditions, the main waterway from Huating county to Shanghai town changed from tongbotang to dongjinggang, and Huibo village gradually moved eastward, forming a new village called Qijian village.
In the middle of Yuan Dynasty, with the development of economy, on the basis of Qijian village, it developed into a small market town based on natural economy. But it is still in the embryonic stage. Because the water of tongbojing, waibojing, Dongjing and Zhangjing converges here, the town is named Sijing.
In 1513, Sijing was listed as "Sijing city".
In the 13th year of Shunzhi (1656), Huating county was divided into northwest Jianlou County, which was subordinate to Songjiang Prefecture. Sijing town belongs to Lou county.
In 1912, Huating county and Lou county were merged into Huating County, which was under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province. Sijing town belongs to Huating county.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Huating county was changed to Songjiang County, which was subordinate to huhaidao. In 1927, it was withdrawn and still under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province. Sijing area (including Silian) belongs to Songjiang County.
In 1929, Songjiang Autonomous County was ordered to try out the district system. Sijing district (including Silian) belongs to Sijing district.
In 1937, the Japanese invaded and Sijing area was occupied.
In August 1945, after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the county government directly controlled Sijing town. In July 1947, Songjiang County abolished the district system and established two district offices and 40 townships and towns. Silian belongs to Sijing town.
On May 14, 1949, Sijing area was liberated.
In 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. Sijing town was listed as a county town, and the original eight townships of the district established Silian Township People's Committee.
In August 1958, the Oriental people's commune was established in Silian township. The next year, it was renamed Silian people's commune.
In March 1978, Anlian commune established Jiuting commune and Dongjing commune.
In April 1983, the government and society were divided into Township and village systems, and Silian Township People's government was established.
On April 4, 1991, the former Sijing town and Silian Township were abolished, and a new Sijing town with the system of town governing village was established.

The geographical coordinates of Sijing town are 121.1 degrees east longitude and 31.08 degrees north latitude. It is adjacent to Jiuting town in the East, Zhaoxiang town and Sheshan town in Qingpu District in the west, Xinqiao Town and Dongjing Town in the South and Xujing town in Qingpu District in the north.

There are five schools in Sijing Town: one junior middle school, two primary schools, three kindergartens and one adult school. Songjiang District government, Education Bureau of Songjiang District and people's Government of Sijing town are very concerned about the development of education in Sijing town. In 2003, Sijing primary school was relocated. The old school building covers less than 10 mu, the new school building covers 40 mu, and the area of the campus has doubled.
