Lizi Township, belonging to Fengdu County of Chongqing, is located in the south of Fengdu County, connecting Jilong town in the East, nantianhu town in the south, Sanjian Township in the West and Longhe town in the north. It is 48 kilometers away from the government of Fengdu County, with a total area of 44.39 square kilometers.
In 1940, Lizi township was established; in 1983, Lizi commune was transformed into Lizi township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Chestnut Township was 12765. As of June 2020, lizixiang governs one community and five administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in liziwan, four groups of Lizi community.

In 1953, Lizi township was divided into four townships: Lezi, Shuangshi, Xinshe and Changtian.
In December 1955, Shuangshi and Xinshe townships were merged into Lizi township.
In October 1958, Lizi commune was established in Lizi township.
In 1983, Lizi commune was changed into Lizi township.
