Xianyi Town, subordinate to Chengkou County of Chongqing City, is located in the south of Chengkou County, bordering Baiquan township of Kaizhou District in the East, manyue township of Kaizhou District in the south, Jiming Township in the West and Liaozi Township in the north. It is 29.3km away from the residence of Chengkou county government, with a total area of 131 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Xianyi town was under the category of Babao and Sijia; in 2014, it was changed from Xianyi township to Xianyi town. By the end of 2018, the household registered residence in the township was 14197. As of June 2020, Xianyi town has one community and seven administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of Xianyi town is stationed in three communities of Xianyi community.

History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the eight guarantees and four ranks.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Jixian Township regiment of Southern District. In the 24th year of the Republic of China (1935), it belonged to the joint protection of chicken and salt in the first district. In the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), it belonged to the Xianji joint insurance. In 1941, it belonged to Jixian township of three districts.
In December 1949, it belonged to Xianyi Township, the third district.
In September 1958, Xianyi township was changed into Xianyi commune.
In October 1984, Xianyi commune was changed into Xianyi township.
In 2014, Xianyi township was changed from township to town.
