Qiantang Town, belonging to Hechuan District of Chongqing, is located in the north of Hechuan District, adjacent to Longshi town of Hechuan District in the East, Yunmen street of Hechuan District in the south, Jialing River in the west, Dashi street and Gulou town across the river, wusheng County of Sichuan Province and Shayu town of Hechuan District in the north, with a total area of 139.99 square kilometers.
In the Ming Dynasty, yuandangzichang was set up in Qiantang Town, belonging to Hezhou; in November 1985, Qiantang township was removed and Qiantang town was built. History of construction
In the Ming Dynasty, yuandangzichang was set up in Qiantang Town, belonging to Hezhou.
Qiantang town was established in 1728 (the sixth year of Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty), belonging to mingyueli of Hezhou, and Jinsha Township in 1906 (the thirty second year of Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty).
In 1926, Qiantang township was established, belonging to the Fifth District of Hechuan county. In 1931, it was changed to Qiantang town. In 1941, it was changed to Qiantang Township, belonging to the third district of Hechuan county.
In March 1953, Qiantang town was set up in Qiantang village.
In February 1956, Qiantang town was merged into Qiantang township.
In September 1958, Qiantang township was changed into Qiantang commune.
In December 1983, it was restored to Qiantang township.
In November 1985, Qiantang township was removed and Qiantang town was built.
In December 1993, Guangxian township was merged into Qiantang town.
In June 2001, Nixi town and Huilong Township were merged into Qiantang town.
In April 2005, JINZI town was merged into Qiantang town.
