In the Xia Dynasty, it was Liangzhou.
In the Zhou Dynasty, it belonged to the state of Bazi. In the fifth year of King Shenliang of Zhou Dynasty (316 BC), Qin Dynasty destroyed Ba County and set Ba County as Jiangzhou county.
In the 18th year of kaihuang (598), the county was located in the main part of the Yangtze River, and changed Jiangyang County into Jiangjin County, where the county was governed.
In 1371, Jiangjin County was divided into 8 townships and 38 Li.
In the 33rd year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1694), the territory belonged to Yidu Yide town.
