Geleshan Street
Geleshan street, belonging to Shapingba District of Chongqing, is located in the middle of Shapingba District, on the Zhongliang mountain range, the branch of Huaying Mountain, with Jingkou town and qinjiagang town in the East, Huayan Town of Jiulongpo District in the south, Xiyong street and Hangu town of Jiulongpo District in the west, and Zhongliang town in the north, with a total area of 33.1 square kilometers.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Geleshan street was divided into Gaodian Township and Xinfeng township of Ba County; in 1997, it co operated with Geleshan street, and the street and town were integrated; in 2019, it was abolished and the Geleshan street was retained. In 2011, the total population of Geleshan street was 67200. As of June 2020, Geleshan street has jurisdiction over 3 communities and 5 administrative villages, and its sub district office is located at 38 Geleshan Main Street, Shapingba District.
Grain crops in Geleshan Street are mainly wheat and corn; animal husbandry is mainly raising pigs and poultry; industry is mainly building materials, auto parts, plastic products, food and medicine.
History of construction
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Gaodian Township and Xinfeng township of Ba County. In 1940, it was put under the jurisdiction of the 13th District of Chongqing.
In December 1950, Geleshan Township and Shandong Township were established.
In April 1951, Geleshan township was divided into jingangpo Township and xinkaisi township.
In 1953, xinkaisi township was merged into jingangpo township.
In 1958, Geleshan commune was established in jingangpo Township and Shandong township.
In 1984, Geleshan commune was changed into Geleshan township.
In 1992, Geleshan township was changed from township to town.
In 1997, it worked together with Geleshan sub district and integrated the streets and towns.
In 2019, Geleshan town will be abolished and Geleshan Street will be retained.
