Shituo Town, belonging to Fuling District of Chongqing, is located at the western edge of Fuling District. It borders Linshi town in the East, Xinmiao town in the south, Wubao ridge in the west, Jiangnan Town in Changshou District, and Yihe town in Fuling District across the river. It is 26 thousand meters away from the government of Fuling District, with a total area of 102.24 square kilometers.
In the Qin and Han Dynasties, Shituo town was located in Zhixian County, Bajun County; in July 1992, Shituo town was established by the merger of Shituo, Jiujing and Shihe townships. In 1931, it belonged to Shituo Town, Jiujing town and Shilong Town. In 1939, Shilong township was changed to Shihe township;
At the beginning of 1950, it belonged to Shituo, Jiujing and Shihe townships.
In July 1992, Shituo, Jiujing and Shihe townships were merged to establish Shituo town.
In 1998, Shihe township was established in Shituo town.
