Xinxiang town

Xinxiang Town, subordinate to Wanzhou District of Chongqing, is located in the southwest of Wanzhou District, adjacent to Linxi town of Shizhu County in the East, Changping Town in the south, Wuling town across the river in the West and Yanshan town in the north. It is 69.0 km away from the government of Wanzhou District, with a total area of 43.3 square kilometers.

In the Qing Dynasty, Xinxiang town belonged to sanzhengli and Yijia; in August 1992, Xinxiang, Changping and Yanshan were merged to build a new town. History of construction

Xinxiang town got its name from its original name "Xinchang".

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to sanzhengli and Yijia.

In 1927, it belonged to Wuling town. In 1929, it belonged to Fuxing Township, the Fifth District. In 1931, it belonged to Sany Town, the second district. In 1935, it belonged to Fuxing Township, the second district. In 1938, it belonged to shangfuxingduo and xiafuxingxiang.

In July 1953, some villages were set up from the upper Fuxing Township and the lower Fuxing township.

In August 1992, Xinxiang, Changping and Yanshan merged to build new towns.

In October 1998, Changping and Yanshan townships were set up in Xinxiang town.
