Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to ChangSa township. In 1951, it was the Sixth District of Wenchang county. In 1957, it was the hometown of Changsa. In 1983, the district was changed. In 1986, the town was built. As of June 2020, 1 community and 12 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of Changsha Town.

Historical evolution
It is said that in the Ming Dynasty, Changsha was built in the old village, which was called "listing". In the Qing Dynasty, after the Han surname of Changshu village and the Huang surname of Changji village built the shop "Xiashi", it was mainly named "Changsha market" by the "Chang" character of each natural village in this area, which meant prosperity.
