Linwei Town, subordinate to Mashan County, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Mashan County, adjacent to Baishan town and Guling town in the East, Wuming County town and Lingma town in the south, Zhoulu town in the West and Qiaoli Township in the north. The administrative area of Linwei town is 320.91 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Lin Wei Town was 100524.

In 1952, forest polder area was set up, belonging to Mashan County. In 1958, Linwei commune was established. In 1962, Linwei commune was changed into Linwei district. In 1969, Linwei district was changed into Linwei commune. In 1984, Linwei commune was replaced by Linwei township. In November 1999, Linwei township was changed into Linwei town. In 2005, Linwei town merged with pianlian township. As of June 2020, Linwei town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 18 administrative villages. The town people's government is located in Linwei street, Linwei village.

History of construction
