Silun town
Silun town belongs to Luoding City, Guangdong Province. It is located in Yunkai mountains in the west of Luoding City, bordering on qiabin town in the north, Cenxi city in Guangxi in the northwest, and Lishao, Longwan, Jiayi towns in the East and south. Silun has a long history. It was the seat of Zhennan County in Tang Dynasty. It has always been the center of economy, culture, transportation and market in the west of Luoding city. In October 2003, Dumen town was abolished and merged into Silun town.
The total area of the town is 233.8 square kilometers, with 28 villages (residential) under the jurisdiction of the whole town, and 83 thousand registered residence population (2018). Silun Town, known as the "hometown of bamboo steamer", has been successively rated as the professional town of bamboo products technology innovation in Guangdong Province, the livable model town in Guangdong Province, the ecological model town in Guangdong Province, the famous town in Guangdong Province, the education strong town in Guangdong Province and the national model town of one village and one product.

Historical evolution
Silun town was a county of Zhennan from Tang Dynasty to five dynasties.
In 973, Zhennan county was merged into Longshui County, and Silun town belonged to Zhennan township of Longshui county.
Jingtai period of Ming Dynasty belongs to Sanshui county.
From 1577 to the end of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Luoding Prefecture.
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the Fourth District of Luoding.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to the eighth District of Luoding County in April 1950, later renamed Silun district.
Silun people's commune was established in 1958.
In August 1983, the commune was abolished and Silun district was established.
In November 1986, Silun town was established.
In October 2003, Dumen town was merged into Silun town.
