Yingcheng Street
Yingcheng street, belonging to Yingde City, Guangdong Province, is the political, economic and cultural center of Yingde City. It is located in the middle of Yingde City, on the West Bank of the middle reaches of Beijiang River, adjacent to Dazhan town in the East, Lianjiangkou town in the south, shimipu town in the west, Hengshitang town in the north and Wangbu town across the Beijiang River. Yingcheng street was established in the county seat of Zhenyang county during the reign of emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty, and later served as the seat of state, government, road and city. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East, most of which are hilly landforms. There are small plains along the Beijiang River, belonging to subtropical monsoon climate. In June 2004, the town was removed and the street was set up. With a total area of 164.5 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 6 communities and 6 villages with a total population of 163000 by 2012. In 2013, the total output value of industries above designated size was 5.398 billion yuan, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery and service industry was 242 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 9144 yuan, an increase of 12.4% over 2012.
Evolution of organizational system
Yingcheng street was established in the county seat of Zhenyang county (Yingzhong, Yingdong, Wengyuan, Xinfeng, Fogang) in the reign of emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (206-195 B.C.), and later served as the seat of state, government, road and city.
In the 44th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1705), there was a city map, a Langyan map, a Mazhai map, and a Yanggao map.
In the 16th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1836), Fucheng Township, Mazhai Township, Langyan Township and Yanggao Township were set up.
In the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), there were county towns, attached urban and rural areas, Yanqian, Malang Township and Yanggao township.
In the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), there were county towns, attached urban and rural areas, Malang Township and Yanggao township.
In 1941, Yingcheng Township, Malang Township and Yanggao Township were established.
In 1945, Chengxiang township was established.
After the liberation of the county on October 9, 1949, the county was divided into three districts: Yingdong, Yingxi and Yingzhong. The township still used the old system, and Chengxiang township was under the jurisdiction of Yingzhong district.
Chengguan town was established in June 1950.
September 1951 and today's Dazhan town belong to the 15th district.
In August 1956, it was set up as a county town and an attached urban area.
In November 1957, Chengguan town was set up and attached to urban and rural areas.
In April 1958, it was set up in Yingcheng and attached to urban and rural areas.
In September 1958, six people's communes were set up in the county, which belong to Yingcheng people's commune together with Dazhan and Fucheng.
In the winter of 1959, Chengdong people's commune was established.

Before the Republic of China, the old and dilapidated ancient roads were mainly used, and the Beijiang waterway was the only way to the provincial capital Guangzhou. Yingcheng is adjacent to the Beijiang River in the East. It is always inconvenient for transportation. Before and after the founding of the people's Republic of China, people and goods all crossed the river by boat. In 1958, a floating bridge was erected near the present section of the channel to connect the east bank. The Yingde people's bridge was built in July 1969 and opened to traffic on January 20, 1971. Since the 1990s, the construction of rural roads has been accelerated and the traffic environment has been gradually improved. After 1994, Yinying road and YingFo road were built, the second Beijiang bridge, Guanyinshan tunnel and provincial road from Yingcheng to Dawan town were built.
