Yuanshan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Lianping County, Guangdong Province, is located in the middle of Lianping county. It is the resident town of the county people's government and the political, economic, cultural, educational and transportation center of the county. It covers an area of 285.32 square kilometers. By the end of 2017, it has a total population of about 84000. It has 15 village committees and 5 neighborhood committees, and the built-up area is 5 square kilometers.
Yuanshan town is located in the subtropical monsoon climate area, Lianping River and Daxi River pass through the town. The origin of the town's name: Mou Ying, the first magistrate of Lianping, was also known as Yuanshan. During his term of office, he was deeply loved by the people and later died in office.
