Tujia Township
Tu's hometown is located 47 kilometers southeast of Renshou County, Sichuan Province. It is located in shallow hills, covering an area of 32.25 square kilometers. It has 15 villages, 102 economic communities and a total population of 9631 (2017).
General situation
The total area of cultivated land is 13844.73 mu, including 9622.59 mu of farmland and 4222.14 mu of soil. There are 12.5 reservoirs and more than 2000 mu of forest. The main agricultural products are rice, wheat, corn, sweet potato, etc.; the main economic crops are rape, fruits, vegetables, traditional Chinese medicine, sugarcane, peanuts, etc.; the main mineral resources are coal, limestone, cultural stone. Tu's hometown is rich in rice and fish, which is a typical "land of fish and rice". In a word, Tu's hometown has "good rice quality, fat fish, sweet sugarcane, abundant mineral resources, quiet environment and good image".
Historical evolution
In the 13th year of Jiaqing (1808 AD), a Tu's mother-in-law built a temple here, named Tujia temple. Many people came to burn incense and worship Buddha, so some people bought and sold things here. Later, it gradually formed a market, so it was called Tujia market. In 1950, the administrative division set up Dage and Qiling townships, which were merged into Tujia Township in 1955.

Tu's hometown is 4.5km away from Fuwang road in the East, 6km away from Kaichang Township in the west, 9.5km away from Sigong Township in the south, 7.3km away from Baofei town in the north and 9km away from Fengling Township in the northwest. At present, the cement road has run through the whole territory, and the traffic is very convenient.

The agricultural structure of the township is reasonable, forming the complementary of traditional projects and advantageous projects, including 960 mu of high-quality rice, 1280 mu of high-quality fruit, 830 mu of fresh vegetable base, 800 mu of sugarcane, 300 mu of peanuts, 500 mu of traditional Chinese medicine, 1200 mu of intensive fish culture, with a total grain output of 11554 tons and a per capita net income of 2790 yuan.
Industry
In 2005, the GDP of the township reached 63.87 million yuan, and the industrial output value was 9.91 million yuan. The main industries were limestone, coal and building materials. The large-scale enterprises were Renshou Xinde stone factory, Renshou Yuncheng stone factory, Renshou Qunying bristle factory, iron and stone prefabrication factory, Pucao coking factory and Renshou Jianjun rubble factory.
