Fengren town

Fengren Town, located in Longchuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to the county, is located in the northern suburb of the county, with a total area of 135.12 square kilometers (2017). It is a hilly area, surrounded by Hanjiang River in the northeast and Dongjiang River in the southwest. Forest resources mainly include Cunninghamia lanceolata, pine, Camellia oleifera, tung oil tree, Phyllostachys pubescens, miscellaneous trees, etc.

It now has 15 village committees and 1 neighborhood committee with a total population of 21148 (2017).

Evolution of organizational system

The song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties were governed by Ningren capital. Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty abolished the "capital" and implemented the "Baojia system", which was divided into fengrenbao, huanglingbao and yangmeitang. In the 17th year of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of the Fifth District of Longchuan. In 1910, the peasant organization "three points meeting" was established in the town, and its leader was named Liu Baisheng (also known as Liu Lishan). The three point meeting is often held in the nearby counties along the Dongjiang River. Its purpose is to rob the rich and help the poor. In 1950, it belonged to TuoCheng district. In 1957, it was renamed Fengren township. In 1958, it was called Fengren people's commune. In the same year, it merged with Laolong commune to form Laolong people's commune. In 1962, it was divided into Fengren commune. In 1980, it was renamed Fengren District. In 1987, it was renamed Fengren town.

The existing farmland is 24400 mu, including 15400 mu of paddy field, mainly producing rice, cassava, peanut, soybean, tobacco and other agricultural products; the existing forest land is 160000 mu, including 100000 mu of pine forest, 22500 mu of Camellia oleifera and 3343 mu of persimmon forest, which is one of the bases of persimmon and Camellia oleifera. There are abundant reserves of high-grade fluorite in the territory.

There are Dongjiang waterway, 205 national highway in the south, Longjiang line in the North (from Laolong to Jiangxi), Wuhua and Xingning in the East, Heping and Lianping in the West. Guangzhou Meizhou Shantou railway and Longjiang highway run through the whole territory, and the traffic is very convenient.

Persimmon: with yellow color, thick meat, small core and other characteristics, the town has a planting area of more than 2 thousand mu, with an annual output of 100 tons; tea oil: with a planting area of more than 9 thousand mu, with an annual output of 66 tons.

Scenic spots

Qinglongyan: it is located in the northeast of the town. It is said that there is a green dragon in its deep pool. There is a waterfall with a drop of more than 130 meters, and there are many scenic spots such as cave, frog stone, longyi stone, xianrenjing, Songtao, etc.
