Mianyang town

Mianyang town belongs to Wuhua County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. It is located at the southernmost end of Wuhua County, adjacent to Jiexi County, with a total area of 242.91 square kilometers (2017), 45 kilometers away from the county. Mianyang commune was set up in September 1958. It was divided into districts in October 1983 and towns in March 1986. In 2004, when the towns were merged, the former Qiaojiang town was merged into Mianyang town. The town has 260000 mu of mountainous area and 46000 mu of cultivated land. The town has 25 administrative villages and 2 neighborhood committees, with 101253 people (in 2017), 42 party branches and 1721 party members. The provincial Anpu highway runs through 9 administrative villages, and 20 of the 25 administrative villages in the town have realized the cement road. There are 120 cadres and workers in the town government and 161 village cadres. There are three middle schools, including one complete middle school, 30 primary schools, two health centers and two homes for the aged.

On September 24, 2019, Mianyang town (black tea) was selected into the list of the ninth batch of national "one village, one product" demonstration villages and towns.

Economics

Mianyang town is a big agricultural town, with a mountainous area of more than 260000 Mu and cultivated land of 46000 mu, including 10000 mu of paddy field, 2.2 mu of fruit area, 1000 mu of Xinguang single cluster tea base, Lidong and Zhukeng mixed fruit base, Lianxi and red fruit persimmon base, etc. single cluster tea, peach barge fruit and diaoli are the main brand cash crops of "famous, rare, special and excellent" inside and outside the province Ronghua, Lianxi, Qunxing and other three villages grow more than 500 mu of flue-cured tobacco, which is one of the key tobacco growing areas in Wuhua County, with an average annual planting area of 3000 mu.

In 2003, Mr. Liao Guangzhu from Hong Kong invested 5 million yuan in the construction of Hong Kong taixiang Hydraulic Development Company in Lushui, Tangchun and Zhangwu reservoir.

In 2004, foreign investment of 4.5 million yuan was introduced to build Yiyuan electronic factory in Mianyang village, and 1.5 million yuan was introduced to build Tangtang lamp factory.

In 2005, it introduced Taiwan Shifu Co., Ltd., invested more than 1 million yuan to build a tea processing plant in Xinguang village, effectively improved the quality of tea, followed a path of company plus farmers, introduced 2.5 million yuan to build Shengqiao Ceramics Co., Ltd. in Tangchun village, and obtained the industrial and commercial certificate in 2006.

Zeng Shaohua

Zeng Shaohua, male, born in Yangguang village, Mianyang town in October 1965, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He graduated from China University of Geosciences in 1986 and is an associate researcher with double master's degree. He has worked in the Research Institute of the central Ministry of construction, the central broadcasting department, the State Environmental Protection Bureau, the assistant mayor of Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, and the general office of the State Council. At present, he is the director of the standard quota Research Institute of the Ministry of housing and urban rural development.

Zeng Zhijun, male, was born in Yangguang village, Mianyang town in November 1948. He was recruited into the army in 1968. He graduated from the military and Political University in 1977. He successively served as director of the political department and director of the Work Department of Guangzhou Military Region, Secretary of the production management Party committee, member of the seventh, eighth and ninth provincial CPPCC, and representative of the Ninth National People's Congress. Liao Yunyu, male, was born in Pantian, Qiaojiang village in 1923, graduated from the Central Police Academy of the Kuomintang in the 1940s, graduated from the Secretary College of Guangzhou evening college of literature and history in the 1960s, majoring in seal cutting, and taught in Sun Yat sen University. He is a member of Chinese Calligrapher Association, a librarian of Guangdong literature and History Museum, and one of the famous calligraphers in China.
