Huliao town

Huliao Town, subordinate to Dapu County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, is the seat of the county seat and county government of Dapu county. It is located in the upper reaches of Meitan River and in the middle of Dapu County, connecting Yanshang and Baihou in the East, Sanhe and hemp in the west, Xihe and chayang in the north, Gaopi and Pingyuan in the south, covering an area of 198.60 square kilometers. At the end of 2018, the total number of registered residence in Hu Liao town was 93437. As of June 2020, huliao town has 4 communities and 19 administrative villages.

Huliao town is the political, cultural and economic center of the whole county of Dapu, known as the "hometown of culture", "hometown of overseas Chinese" and "hometown of Han Opera". There are national key cultural relics protection units taianlou, national 4A scenic area taianlou Hakka Cultural Tourism Industrial Park.

Historical evolution

According to cultural relics research, in ancient times, the central village of huliao town used to be a lake.

In 413, Yizhao county was built in huliao Village (today's ancient city) to accommodate immigrants from the north. It was an early place for Hakkas to settle down. The original residents treated all the immigrants who lived here equally, so there was another name for "Tongren". The place names of "huliao" and "Tongren" have been used since then.

The history of Qing Dynasty is called Tongren society.

Tongren district was established in the Republic of China.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, huliao district (township, people's commune) was established.

In 1961, the county government moved back to huliao from chayang and remained a people's commune.

In October 1980, it was divided into huliao commune and huliao town.

In the winter of 1983, the commune was changed into a district.

In April 1985, the township was merged into huliao town.

Tai'an building, a national key cultural relic protection unit, is located in Longgang Village, huliao Town, Dapu County, Meizhou city. It was built in the 28th year of Qianlong reign of Emperor Gaozong of Qing Dynasty (1764). It is a rare stone building in China. It covers a total area of 6684 square meters and has 200 rooms.

The first and second floors of Tai'an building are decorated with Hakka elements exhibition areas with unique style. The first floor reproduces the development history of Hakka, Hakka production and living utensils, Hakka costumes, festival activities utensils and so on, recording in detail the development, production and living conditions of Hakka people in Dapu over the past thousand years. The second floor is the historical relics of Dapu, the life of the building owner, the style of Hakka celebrities, Hakka dwellings and famous temples The exhibition areas include: the exhibition area of picture model, the exhibition area of Hakka rare scenery resources, the exhibition area of ceramic culture, the painting and calligraphy of 100 founding generals, the life story of 108 generals from Dapu, the story of overseas Chinese, famous tea culture, Hakka food culture, etc. The whole building is a concentrated display of the Hakka style of Tai Po.

Taianlou Hakka Cultural Tourism Industrial Park

Taianlou Hakka Cultural Tourism Industrial Park is a national 4A scenic spot, covering taianlou, West Lake Park, sports center, cultural center and Wetland Park, with a total planning area of 0.49 square kilometers. According to the idea of tasting "culture", watching "strange mountains", enjoying "beautiful water" and seeing "flowers", the Hakka Cultural Park of tai'anlou is built into "one garden and three cities" (namely cultural industrial park, water city, green city and Flower City) by integrating Hakka cultural elements.

Shuangjishan Provincial Forest Park

Shuangjishan provincial forest park is located in huliao Town, Dapu County, with an altitude of 668 meters. It is named after the double peaks on the top of the mountain, which looks like ancient women's hair bun. It is a Guangdong Provincial Forest Park. The cement tourist road leads to the top of the mountain. There are many stone caves in shuangjishan provincial forest park. One of them is a stone chamber, tolerant of hundreds of people; the other is a kilometer long stone hole, from the entrance to the exit, visitors can walk upright; another is a "drum rock", with feet stepping on the "drum face", and boulders shaking, which is called "drum playing in high mountains".
